Artificial Grass Houston, Texas
In Huston city of Taxes state, the new synthetic field for
the University of Houston Cougars football
team is well on its way to completion. The field is planning to be finished in
Aug. 29 just before the opening game with the University of Texas at San
Antonio Roadrunners.
Artificial turf is a surfacing material that looks like
natural grass but has natural and environmental benefits. Artificial grass
generally placed in the areas where grass cannot grow, or in areas where water
is scared and maintenance is expensive. That is why Houston has the perfect
conditions to install artificial grass at their sport stadiums, playgrounds,
home yards and patios, and many
other surfaces where it is needed. The newest synthetic turf products have
been chemically treated to be resistant to ultraviolet rays, and the quality
have been improved to be more durable, water resident, more softer, and more natural looking like grass.
The Houston Director of Athletics, Mack Rhoades, is expecting
the renovations done by the twenty-ninth and is ready to play football. The
John O'Quinn field at University of Houston will seat a forty thousand seat stadium
and is on schedule and the director is promising to complete the installation
of the synthetic field before the first football game. Rhoades mentioned that
should it be necessary they will pay the company handling construction for
overtime for their field to be finished on time. He said that the fans will
notice their new synthetic grass with different shades of green, the effect
that will give an impression of recently mowed grass. "It's been a tremendous,"
the director commented on the project that was started in January of last year."
Director of Athletics and the Houston University are grateful and excited to
change the future of their game's outcome on their new artificial turf, but
they are not the only one historical are excited about this product.
The Ford Foundation in 1960s, asked science and industry to
develop synthetic playing surfaces for urban spaces. Their mission to advance
human achievement hoped and to give children year-round play areas with better
play quality and more uses than the traditional fields that were made of
concrete or asphalt, of trodden soil of small urban playgrounds. The first synthetic
grass, called Chemgrass or better known as AstroTurf, was installed was in 1964.
In 1966, artificial turf was first used in professional major-league sports and
gained its most famous artificial turf in Houston.
Today many of the Houston residence and the sport leagues
